4S Summit - Hurricane Ian Update

 Posted on: September 29 2022
4S Summit Attendees: As you know, Hurricane Ian hit Florida this past week, with Sarasota directly in its path. We have communicated with our 4S Summit host hotel, The Westin Sarasota, and they report no major damage to the hotel. In fact, the hotel will be opening on Saturday with 100% operations. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport plans to reopen this weekend after repairing some roof damage.   Sports ETA has made the decision to hold our 4S Summit as planned in Sarasota on October 11-13. This is an excellent opportunity to support our members and partners in the destination by bringing in our tourism dollars.    In addition, we suggest that attendees participate in American Red Cross efforts by bringing items for care packages that we will assemble on-site. Here is a list of suggested donation items, many of which are easy to pack in your suitcase. You can also donate directly at redcross.org/donate/hurricane-ian-donations.   If you have any specif...

Cowart Sports Events Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Title IX

 Posted on: June 22 2022
Cowart Sports Events (CSE) celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Title IX on Memorial Day weekend during their Battle at The Rock youth softball tournament in Little Rock, Arkansas. To commemorate the event, one softball complex each day was dedicated to only have female umpires on the fields.  The first day of the tournament, the 12U bracket was able to witness all female officials, and on the second day of the tournament, the 14U bracket was able to witness all female officials.  Many comments were heard on both days from players, coaches, and parents that the girls really enjoyed seeing more women calling their games. One comment went as far as to thank the tournament staff for putting the event together and showcasing the women that serve as role models for the young players. Banners were hung on the backstop fences in honor of the event to remind us all how far we have come as women in sports and also to serve as a reminder that there is more wor...
