2025 Sports ETA Facility Summit:
Innovations in Sports Facilities
Course Description:
The 2025 Sports ETA Facilities Summit is the premier educational experience for sports venue owners, operators, and sports tourism professionals. As the industry leader in advancing best practices and innovation, Sports ETA is committed to providing cutting-edge insights that shape the future of sports facilities.
This one-day event will explore Innovations in Sports Facilities, equipping attendees with strategies to enhance their venues and maximize their role in the sports tourism landscape.
The day will kick off with an exclusive Fireside Chat Breakfast featuring Shane Fernandez, President & Chairman of USA BMX, headquartered in Tulsa, OK. This engaging Q&A session will provide firsthand insights into how USA BMX continues to innovate within the industry.
Following this, a dynamic panel discussion will bring together visionary leaders from the Tulsa metro area to share how the region is driving innovation in sports facility development and infrastructure
Attendees will also participate in two curated off-site venue tours: Gathering Place and WeStreet Ice Center. These site visits will be guided by a structured workbook designed to encourage thoughtful exploration of three key areas:
- Sport Facility Innovations
- Facility Considerations
- Intentional Programming & Partnerships
The workbook will serve as a course guide, prompting attendees to apply learnings to their own facilities and fostering collaboration through group discussions and an interactive “Sticky Note” exercise.
By the end of the summit, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of facility innovation and develop actionable takeaways to enhance their current or future sports venues.
What others have to saY:
"The Facilities Summit provided a great opportunity to tour two very different facilities while having direct contact with all involved in the projects, from the person with the lightbulb idea to the architect, engineer, contractor, and the day to day managers and tour guides. Learning from all their unique perspectives and having the ability ask questions and have one-on-one conversations was invaluable." - 2025 Facilities Summit Attendee
"If you are managing, operating, planning, developing or even just thinking about building a sports facility, this Summit is a can’t miss event!" - 2025 Facilities Summit Attendee
"The Facilities Summit provides educational opportunities for DMOs/Sports Commissions which gives us tools and resources to work with our parks & recreation and venue owners better. It gives us ideas that we can take back to our community." - 2025 Facilities Summit Attendee

"As a new facility operator I have relied on best practices from similar facilities in order to plan our staffing and maintenance programs. As we are entering the market, it seems there is a lack of networking and training opportunities for facilities like ours. The Sports Facilities Summit fills a large need in the industry and I am excited to learn from experts around the country on how to better our product and/or operations."
Ben Huffman, STS, Director of Sports Enterprises, Warren County CVB
