Induction of Honorees
The process to be used by the Committee for Induction of Honorees into the Sports ETA Hall of Fame is as follows:
- Induction occurs annually following review of nominations and approval of the Sports ETA Hall of Fame Committee.
- Nominations from Sports ETA members are highly encouraged.
- Posthumous nominations are encouraged.
Nominations for the 2024 Hall of Fame closed January 31, 2024.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Sports ETA Hall of Fame, honorees must be classified into one of the following categories:
- Destination Member: Must have had a career of at least 10 years for induction by virtue of extraordinary service to the Sports ETA regardless of length of the nominee’s career.
- Rights Holder: Member Nominee who has conducted events with Sports ETA members and rendered continuous outstanding service to the Sports ETA.
- Industry Partner: Nominee who has rendered continuous and outstanding service to the Sports ETA.
- Special Service Nominee: Nominee who has rendered continuous and outstanding service to the Sports ETA.
- Organizer, Promoter, Sponsor of Sporting Events and Programs: Nominee who has rendered continuous and outstanding service to the Sports ETA.
After induction to the Sports ETA Hall of Fame, inductees will be recognized on a permanent basis by inclusion on the Sports ETA Hall of Fame page or section of the organization's website with an appropriate Hall of Fame bio and photo.
HOF Committee Members
Initial representation on the Hall of Fame Committee was by appointment from members of the Sports ETA Leadership Council and approved by the Sports ETA Board of Directors. The committee shall be comprised of not more than five (5) members who will be identified as the Hall of Fame Committee. The Committee elects its Chairman and each committee member serves a three-year term. Committee members are eligible to serve one successive term upon majority vote of all committee members.
