Sports ETA Webinar Look-Back

 Posted on: June 30 2020
Sports ETA is continuing its dedication to our members in providing resources to you during this current pandemic. Below are a few of our recent webinars you may have missed. We encourage you to go back and watch all of our webinars in our archives. After receiving thousands of responses, IUPUI SII put together a Kano Model using 12 adaptations (like increased sanitation, health screenings, allowing no spectators, etc.) and seei...

He is the co-chair of the Mentoring & Engagement Committee and the current Sports ETA Treasurer. Don is also the Director of Sports Development at Decatur-Morgan County Tourism where he is responsible for the sales and development of attracting sporting events, tournaments or competitions to the area. For Don, that entails building relationships with city and county officials, while also spearheading efforts to build new facilities or opportunities to increase economic development within our community.  Posted on: June 9 2020
Share the knowledge. That’s what Gray Williams wants to do for Sports ETA members, new and not so new. “I begged, borrowed lots from Sports ETA members to get where we are today,” said Williams. “I am always happy to help anyone who is looking to move towards this.” All that begging and borrowing has led her to this - the Executive Director of Greenville- Pitt County Sports Commission, a newly formed organization. Launching in July 2019, the commission is just beginning to show how the area is an emerging sports destination. Her role is to lead the sports commission in being a preferred sports destination for events, vendors, visitors and beyond. “We are a small destination with big city feels and budget friendly hospitality,” Williams said. “We also understand what we are and what we are not. Knowing we have 2,000 hotel rooms puts us in a position where some events could be a fit and some are not.” Gray suggests partner...

Mentor Spotlight: Clay Partain

 Posted on: June 2 2020
He was known once as a hero in the small town of Beaver, Oklahoma after he and his cross country team won the Class 2A State Championship. Today, that memory holds a special place in Clay Partain’s heart as his love for sports bleeds into his job. Clay is the Director of Sports Market Sales at Visit Salt Lake.
