19-field sports facility coming to Naples, Florida area

The Naples, Florida area is growing its sports tourism abilities with a new sports facility. Collier County is building an $80 million dollar facility that would include 19 sports fields and a lake, according to WINK-TV. This is all made possible to tourism tax dollars. County officials believe this facility will be very popular for not only local sporting events but national tournaments as well. That is something for Sports ETA member Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau to be excited about. The unnamed facility will be operational next July. This will include four fields. The rest of the 15 fields will be done in 2021. Congrats!

Sports ETA, Northstar Meetings Group Announce Strategic Partnership

CINCINNATI (September 16, 2019) – Sports ETA, the most essential resource for sports commissions, sports destinations, sports event owners and industry partners, announced today a multi-year partnership with Northstar Meetings Group (NMG), the leading multi-brand media platform for event planners of all types, including professionals who organize and manage sporting events through its SportsTravel print, digital and event brand. NCAA Site Selection and Bid Process

The NCAA is looking for hosts for 86 of the 90 championships spanning four academic years: 2022 - 23 and 2025 - 26. The NCAA has engaged the services of an agency, 129 Sports LLC, to assist in managing this effort. Its founder, Russ Yurk, has in-depth knowledge of the NCAA and its processes, as well as experience in a range of national sporting events. 2018 Award Winner Spotlight: Event Marketing Campaign

Ready, set, run what some call “The South’s Toughest Bridge Run”. Savannah Sports Council is the 2018 award winner for Event Marketing Campaign for the Enmarket Bridge Run. The 5k or 10k race takes runners across Savannah’s Talmadge Bridge. “This event means the world to me,” says Rob Wells, Director of the Savannah Sports Council. “I keep telling people that this award means so much more than most because it is selected by our peers and presented among them.” While the Savannah Sports Council won this campaign award for the Enmarket Bridge Run, which saw a 17% increase, they saw tremendous success at other events last year.
