A new season is upon us, and we are thrilled to announce the revival of our Sports ETA Mentoring Community! We're on the lookout for dedicated individuals who are ready to share their knowledge, inspire growth, and foster connections within our community. Yes, you guessed it right – we need mentors!

As Sports ETA continues to flourish, so does the need for guidance and support for our members. Mentorship has the potential to be a transformative experience for both mentors and mentees. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a rising star, your unique experiences and expertise can make a significant impact on someone's life and career.

Why Become a Mentor?

  • Pay It Forward: Remember those who guided you when you needed it most? Here's your chance to do the same for someone else.
  • Networking: You'll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and expand your professional network.
  • Personal Growth: Sharpen your leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Fulfillment: There's no greater feeling than seeing your mentee(s) succeed with your guidance.

What Does it Take to be a Mentor?

  • Commitment: Be willing to dedicate quality time to your mentee(s) based on your schedule. The mentoring program is a one year commitment, January 1 - December 31, 2024.
  • Empathy: Understand and empathize with your mentee's challenges.
  • Patience: Not all growth happens overnight.

If you're thinking, "Hey, that sounds like something I'd love to do" then it's time to take action! Sign up to be a mentor today!

How to Get Involved:

  1. Express Your Interest: Simply complete the Call for Mentors Questionnaire by Friday, December 1.
  2. Orientation: We'll provide a mentor orientation session to prepare you for this incredible journey. Details to follow.
  3. Matching: You will be carefully matched with a mentee or mentees (determined by your comfortability) based on your interests, goals, experience, and industry background.
  4. Mentorship Begins: Start making a positive impact on someone's life!

Not ready to be a Mentor? Sign up to be a Mentee.

What to expect:

  1. Your Active Participation: To get the most out of the mentorship, your active participation and engagement are essential. Be prepared to take initiative, ask questions, and work towards your goals!

  2. Regular Meetings: You can expect to have regular one-on-one meetings with your mentor. The frequency of these meetings may vary based on your needs.

  3. Personalized Guidance: Your mentor will tailor their guidance to your specific needs and aspirations. This personalized approach ensures that you receive the support that is most relevant to your journey.

  4. Accountability: Your mentor will help hold you accountable for your goals and commitments, encouraging you to stay on track and take the necessary steps to achieve your objectives.

  5. Open Communication: Effective communication is key to a successful mentorship. You should be open and honest with your mentor about your goals, challenges, and progress to ensure a productive partnership.
  6. Learning and Growth: Your mentor will share their knowledge, insights, and experiences with you. They will provide advice, constructive feedback, and resources to help you develop your skills and knowledge within the sports events and tourism industry.

If you're interested in becoming a mentor or mentee and getting involved, please complete the questionnaire of your choice by Friday, December 1. Your participation will help us build a stronger, more vibrant community and empower the next generation of sports events and tourism leaders. Together, we can make this a season of growth, learning, and new beginnings.

Wishing you a wonderful and productive autumn season!

Warm regards,

Your Mentoring Community Leaders
