According to our association's bylaws, specifically outlined in Article XV, amendments to the Bylaws of the Association are eligible for discussion solely during an Annual Meeting or during any regular or special meeting convened by the Board of Directors.

A proposed bylaw change and motion have been submitted in accordance with our bylaw rules by Mike Price, Chief Sales and Operations Officer of Destination Ann Arbor/Ann Arbor Sports Commission. A second to the motion has been submitted by Don Dukemineer, Director of Sports Development at Decatur Morgan County Tourism. The proposed amendment is explained in the document below.

According to our Bylaws, a notice of proposed bylaw amendments must be communicated to members at least sixty (60) days prior to the vote of the membership. In line with this requirement, the vote on the proposed amendment will take place during a special meeting called by the Board of Directors, which is scheduled for 2:00 PM Eastern Time, Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

In addition, our Bylaws mandate that no less than ten (10) days prior to the vote by the Membership, the Board of Directors must host a town hall meeting by phone or other electronic means open to the Membership. During this town hall meeting, members will have the opportunity to provide comments and ask questions regarding the proposed bylaw amendment. Reminder, the town hall meeting will be held at 2:00 PM Eastern Time, Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Your active participation and engagement in this process are highly encouraged. We value your input and feedback, and we believe that this democratic process allows our association to evolve and adapt in line with the needs and desires of our membership. Please take the time to review the enclosed proposed Bylaw amendment and be prepared to engage in the discussion during the upcoming town hall meeting on November 29th.
