With the 26th Symposium now officially three months away, I’m sure you’re beginning to ask yourself what to expect upon your arrival in Minneapolis.  Being a first-time attendee, I know you have lots of unanswered questions about how to best prepare for tackling the symposium. Luckily, you’ve found the right place, and your National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) Mentoring & Engagement Committee is here to help!

Over the next few months, our team will be publishing articles on how to properly plan for the Symposium, and what activities to experience during your time in the “Twin Cities.”  Each article will focus on an area of the conference, and detail how to approach that event or activity.  Our committees' years of experience can help guide the direction you set for yourself. “What are your goals, how to make the most from attending the Symposium, what to do during the appointments and what events should I attend…” these questions, along with others, will be outlined in the upcoming articles.  We urge you to take a few minutes to read each month’s offerings, and if you still have questions, reach out to your mentor as they stand ready to assist.
All of the articles will culminate in an outline on how to approach preparing for the Symposium, and also offer steps for a successful follow-up plan after returning home.  Our committee wants the best for you, and want to help you be successful in accomplishing your goals.

On a personal note… I look forward to describing how YOU, our first timers, will be encouraged to join in the process of “Rowing the Boat!”  I encourage you to make plans to attend the “New Member Networking” event Monday evening at 5:30pm, and then the “First-Time Attendee Orientation” on Tuesday afternoon at 1pm.  Our team is excited to welcome you into YOUR association as your start your journey with the NASC!
