Gary Alexander

Gary Alexander is a longtime sports administrator whose career has taken him to positions with the United States Olympic Committee, USA Gymnastics, the Nashville Sports Council (NSC) and the Music City Bowl. He served as the Executive Director of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2014 NCAA Women’s Final Four, where he led the community in its role as host. This work earned him the honor of being named the NSC Community Spirit Award recipient for 2014, an award voted on by the Nashville media. Alexander is a former Chairman of the National Association of Sports Commissions, having served on the Board for eight years. He officiated the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and is a member of the National Gymnastics Judges Association Hall of Fame. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University (ASU), where he was inducted into the ASU Sports Hall of Fame. Gary also holds a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Colorado.

In his current role, Alexander serves as Principal of the Huddle Up Group, a sports tourism consulting company specializing in strategic planning, venue feasibility studies, and speaking engagements. Alexander has played a prominent role leading strategic projects for DMOs, CVBs, sports commissions, cities, counties, states, and also several NGBs and event rights holders. An energetic presenter, Gary excels in leading collaborative efforts towards a singular goal. A teacher and coach at heart, his passion is helping others obtain their goals through collaboration and education.
