Michelle Wessels is the Senior Director of Membership & Engagement for Sports ETA, where she leads the association’s membership growth, retention, engagement, and member services strategies. A dedicated member of the Sports ETA team since 2015, Michelle began her journey as an intern before returning to the organization full-time in 2020 as Business Services Manager.

Since rejoining the staff, Michelle has played a key role in strengthening member engagement, expanding community programs, enhancing member services, and supporting the continued growth of the association. She was promoted to Director of Membership & Engagement in 2023 and Senior Director in 2025. Today, she oversees membership recruitment and retention initiatives, member communities, engagement programs, event registration operations, and strategic efforts designed to maximize value for Sports ETA members.

Known for her member-first approach, Michelle is passionate about building meaningful relationships, creating opportunities for connection, and ensuring Sports ETA remains a trusted resource for its members and partners.

Michelle earned an Associate of Administrative Management Technology with a focus on Meetings and Events in 2015 and a Bachelor of Technical and Applied Studies with a specialization in Applied Administration in 2016, both from the University of Cincinnati.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeremy, and their children, Brooklyn and Owen. Whether she's juggling life with two busy kids, enjoying a strong iced coffee, or searching for the next great taco spot, she values time spent with family and friends. During football season, you'll likely find her cheering on the Indianapolis Colts.
