Hill Carrow
Hill is a native North Carolinian who grew up in Kinston, NC, and now resides with his wife and daughter in Morrisville. He attended UNC on a Morehead Scholarship and earned his law degree from Columbia University in NYC. An award-winning lifelong competitive swimmer and former swim coach, Hill is considered a Founding Father of the state and national sports tourism industry and is recognized both locally and abroad as an expert in the organization and execution of major, complex multi-sport Olympic events. A veteran of 13 Olympic Games, he is a leader in promoting the U.S and Africa as sports destinations. His big U.S. focus has been on NC as a major sports destination: ranging from creating NC’s largest annual event (State Games), hosting 6 Olympic Trials, 3 US Figure Skating Championships, and 6 national swimming championships, to leading the development and fundraising efforts for new venues such as WakeMed Soccer Park and the USA Baseball National Training Complex. After a 5-year effort to land the Games, Hill is now the Chair & CEO of what will be the largest event in North Carolina history – the 2029 FISU World University Games.
