The International University Sports Opportunity

The session is intended to inform and educate Sports ETA members on a virtually untapped opportunity in the United States to host international events featuring the world's best college and university athletes. The program will include an introduction to the international governing body (FISU) and the United States member organization (USIUSF). The program will then describe 1) the multi-sport opportunity with the Winter and Summer World University Games, 2) the World University Championships that are held in more than 30 different sports, and 3) the University World Cup events held in select sports.

Collaboration of Communities - We're not all enemies!

The collaboration of communities in South Florida help bring the United States Olympic Baseball Qualifier to the state when the Play Treasure Coast Sports Tourism office and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission hosted the only Olympic Baseball Qualifying round in 2021. From the first site visit at both destinations to the first pitch of the Gold Medal game, this was a home run for both destinations. The only Olympic Baseball Qualifying Round to be hosted in the United States.
