Ian Adamson

Ian Adamson’s international sports career started in 1988, representing Australia in canoe, kayak, triathlon, and sailing. He was a member of the United States canoe team and won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the ESPN X-Games in adventure racing. Adamson was a founding member of Nike’s professional multi-sport and adventure team, winning eleven world championship titles and setting six Guinness World Records in canoe, fitness, and obstacle racing.
Adamson worked as an engineering manager and executive in the medical device and sporting goods industries before applying his expertise as a producer and director with International Management Group (IMG) for complex international multi-sport events and television shows.
He oversees obstacle racing (Ninja / OCR), and related sports as the Chair of the Obstacle Commission for World Pentathlon (UIPM). Adamson is also an executive board member and the multisport director of USA Pentathlon Multisport. He works as a legal forensic expert providing technical investigations, analysis, and testimony toward the resolution of commercial and personal injury litigation involving sport, recreation, and product matters.
