Organization:Driven Authentic Branding Solutions
In college I co-founded Carvertise. We built it from nothing and eventually grew it to 19M. Looking back, the thing I gravitated toward most was storytelling. It was the one part of the job that felt effortless.
On my honeymoon in Italy, I remember lying on the beach thinking life was finally clicking into place. The business was stable. I had just gotten married. What could go wrong?
A few days later, I started getting these strange headaches behind my ears. Then vertigo. Then neck pain. Then coordination issues. I saw every doctor imaginable. Most said it was probably long COVID or something vague. It was not until I tried acupuncture and the acupuncturist, who barely spoke English, looked shocked and told me to go to the ER that everything finally clicked.
I was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer that is usually found in children. Because of that, my chemo roommates were three years old, six years old, and two years old. The whole experience was awful. And yet, it gave me perspective I do not think I could have gained any other way.
Perspective on faith, acceptance, unfairness, resilience, and the human spirit.
After treatment, I eventually sold my interest in Carvertise and started my current company. Brian Selander became one of my first clients and introduced me to Andrea Boyle Tippett, M.S.J., M.B.A. and we have been off to the races since.
I love what I do. And the fact that I love it is a big part of why I am good at it. With Brian’s team, we did not just tell stories. We created meaningful business results.
If you know someone who wants to tell their story on LinkedIn in a way that actually drives real business outcomes, I would be grateful if you kept me in mind.
