Our morning panel will kick start this year’s Summit theme centered around Facility Funding & Finance strategies. We will be reviewing strategies that are being used by Las Vegas area professionals that are impactful and transferable to any community looking to fund existing or future sport facilities.  We will hear from a private developer that is using AI for his facility as well as a third-party operator that is partnered with the City of Henderson for a new indoor facility.

Steve Goris joined KemperSports in October 2022 as the senior vice president of KemperSports Venues.  In this role, he oversees the strategy, growth and operations for this business unit dedicated to serving and supporting our expanding portfolio of youth sports and recreation facilities. 

A proven leader and savvy industry veteran, Steve most recently served as senior vice president of  Vieste, LLC, leading the development of several sports and entertainment projects, including the Memphis Sports and Events Center. Prior to that, he served as vice president of planning and development for Sports Facility Management (SFM) after co-founding and working as chief operating officer of Spooky Nook Sports (Lancaster, Pa.), the largest indoor sports complex in North America. 

Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration – Finance/Accounting from the University of Toledo where he also played on the men’s volleyball team. Steve has since coached volleyball teams at the club, high school and collegiate levels. He now spends most of his free time with his wife, Michelle, watching their 10-year-old son, Tyler, and 7-year-old daughter, Corrine, play the sports they love.

Steve Escalante was born and raised in Southern California before moving to Las Vegas to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas  (UNLV) with an emphasis in business management and marketing. Boasting more than 20 years of deep-seated industry experience,  Escalante utilizes his knowledge, determination and enthusiasm to manage local, regional and international real estate and business development ventures as President of Global Business Development at Growth Holdings (GH) the parent company of Growth Luxury Realty (GLR). A seasoned real estate professional, Escalante oversees all commercial, condo, multi-family, mixed use, golf, hospitality and gaming projects, with sales and management of more than $2.5 billion in real estate.

Prior to joining GLR, Escalante decided to pursue his love of real estate development while attending UNLV and obtain his real estate license to represent owners and investors for both residential and commercial properties. Throughout his real estate career, Escalante has served in executive roles including senior VP of sales and marketing and chief operations officer at C&S Holdings, where he oversaw the company’s entire operations including sales, marketing, research, analysis, legal and finance reporting; as well as Cheryl Davis & Associates, where he played a key role in bringing the first Engel & Völkers international real estate franchise to Nevada.

In 2009 Steve Founded the Escalante Group, a boutique luxury real estate experience. The intent is to provide his clients the highest level of service for their residential and commercial real estate and deliver the experience with an intimate and personalized approach. GLR is a top internationally recognized real estate firm specializing in residential, commercial, and development.
