Kim Summers is CEO of Placer Valley Tourism and @the Grounds, where she has helped position the region between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe as a leading sports tourism destination. Under her leadership, Placer Valley Tourism generates roughly 50,000 annual room nights and supports more than 650 events, producing an estimated $25 million in annual economic impact. Summers has led landmark public-private partnerships, including the $41 million transformation of the Placer County Fairgrounds into @the Grounds and a first-of-its-kind naming-rights agreement—making Placer Valley Tourism the only destination marketing organization in the U.S. with naming rights to an amateur sports facility.
