This Young Professional has already had not one, but two dream jobs. But that’s not stopping Roxanne Steinhoff from continuing her career in Sports Tourism. Roxanne Steinhoff is the Marketing and Communications Specialist at Chicago Sports Commission and Choose Chicago. She’s been there for five years and handles the outgoing communications including managing marketing, advertising, design, and the brand. This became dream job number 2 - showcasing one of the greatest cities in the world. Dream job number 1 was working on an Olympic bid. If you know anything about Arizona college sports, you’ll know Arizona State University and the University of Arizona is the big rival in the state. This Sports ETA Young Professional and Tucson native went against tradition and attended Arizona State University instead of U of A. It’s a decision Alicia Kentz Griffith says made some of her best sports memories. “l would have to say my favorite sports memory is hands down attending the Arizona State vs. University of Arizona football games each year with my family,” said Kentz Griffith. International Waterskiing Competition returns to USA

The International Waterski Championships are coming back to the USA. The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) recently announced the 2021 competition will be held in Lake County, Florida. Quidditch may not be a sport you know much about, but Laura Porth and the team at U.S. Quidditch is trying to change that. Laura is the Director of Events & Partnership at U.S. Quidditch. She oversees all aspects of U.S. Quidditch's 8 annual championships, including the bidding process, budgeting, volunteers, and logistics. As well as creating and managing partnership opportunities. Laura says her goal is to bring quidditch to new cities, especially on the west coast. Big sporting events may have been cancelled this year, but the sports events and tourism world is looking towards the future. Many large events have RFPs out right now for events in upcoming years. As a Sports ETA member, you have access to our database of Event RFPs at your fingertips. Right now, there are nearly 75 events posted which are actively looking for RFPs. Sports ETA members can look at the details of each Event RFP right on our website to learn what each event is looking for in a host city. If you determine an event is right for your area, you can submit a bid by following the instructions in each RFP. We hope you use our Event RFP Database to help you secure events in the future.
