In other words, sports events and tourism’s primary objective was to solicit non-local travelers to a destination resulting in maximum room-night generation – commonly referred to as “heads in beds.”  As the industry has evolved, it has become apparent that hosting sporting events in a certain locale provides deeper value than solely counting heads in beds. Big sporting events may have been cancelled this year, but the sports events and tourism world is looking towards the future. Many large events have RFPs out right now for events in upcoming years. As a Sports ETA member, you have access to our database of Event RFPs at your fingertips. Right now, there are nearly 75 events posted which are actively looking for RFPs. Sports ETA members can look at the details of each Event RFP right on our website to learn what each event is looking for in a host city. If you determine an event is right for your area, you can submit a bid by following the instructions in each RFP. We hope you use our Event RFP Database to help you secure events in the future.
