Ease the transition to working remotely

Are you like the thousands of employees who have found themselves working remotely during this COVID-19 pandemic? If so, how’s it going? It can be challenging if you’ve never worked from home. The remote team of Lindsey Pollak and Eileen Coombes recently gave INC.com a few tips to keep your team’s productivity and morale high. Cut yourself a break. Working from home is a transition. Find what works for you whether that is setting scheduled “in-office” hours and break times, turning on a white noise machine or app to reduce noise, or buying new furniture for your office to make you the most comfortable and productive. Overcommunicate. Mentor Spotlight: Russ Yurk

From two Olympics to the NCAA and state games, event planning his Russ Yurk’s specialty. Along with being a great Sports ETA mentor, Russ is the president of 129 Sports LLC. His company provides world-class event planning and project management to clients. Russ leads the NCAA Championships host bid process. He’s also planning a U-18 world championship for USA Baseball in 2021. On the side, he’s the commissioner of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. They are a Division I/II conference that receives one of five automatic bids into the NCAA tournament. After working at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Russ hopes to work on one more summer Olympics before he retires saying, “there is nothing better. Important Housing Information - Sports ETA 2020 Symposium

We are aware that Sports ETA Symposium attendees may be the target of unauthorized hotel providers who claim to be partners or providing services on behalf of Sports ETA.  Please be aware that these companies are not authorized to provide services on Sports ETA’s behalf.  Visit KC is the only official housing provider for the 2020 Sports ETA Symposium.  As a reminder, your April hotel reservations have already been canceled for you if you made them through our official reservations link. If you contacted a hotel directly to make reservations, you must cancel those on your own. A new housing link to make reservations for August will open in early April. You will receive an email notification once it opens and you will need to make new reservations.
