4S Summit Attendees: As you know, Hurricane Ian hit Florida this past week, with Sarasota directly in its path. We have communicated with our 4S Summit host hotel, The Westin Sarasota, and they report no major damage to the hotel. In fact, the hotel will be opening on Saturday with 100% operations. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport plans to reopen this weekend after repairing some roof damage.   Sports ETA has made the decision to hold our 4S Summit as planned in Sarasota on October 11-13. This is an excellent opportunity to support our members and partners in the destination by bringing in our tourism dollars.    In addition, we suggest that attendees participate in American Red Cross efforts by bringing items for care packages that we will assemble on-site. CINCINNATI (March 20, 2020) – Sports ETA,  the association for the sport tourism industry, announced its revised schedule of 2020-21 programs to bring the national membership and sports events leaders in the industry together for educational and networking opportunities.   The Annual Symposium has been moved to August 2-5, 2020, remaining in Kansas City, Missouri, and will bring hundreds of sports events and tourism professionals and industry partners together to exchange resources, strategies and more. The Symposium features dozens of education sessions, networking opportunities, and business development discussions, all to help Sports ETA members elevate their sports events and improve their work in their destinations. It was another successful year for the 4S Summit. More than 150 sports events and tourism leaders attended the three-day summit in Providence, Rhode Island last week. During the three-day summit, attendees had the chance to learn new ideas and resources along with best practices to take back to their organization. “The 4S Summit allows industry professionals to come together to share ideas and best practices about the current trends in sports events and tourism,” said Al Kidd, President & CEO, Sports Events & Tourism Association. “Providence was a terrific host city to cultivate discussions between some of the great minds in our industry.” One of those attendees was Jarrett Dowling, CSEE Sales Manager at Columbia SC Sports.
